Excel Energy's
Latest Proposed Site Plan
The image below shows an artistic rendering of the latest site plan from Xcel
Energy. It does include a new gas insulated design which reduces the foot
print, but the site is still sizeable. The image is a photo taken of one of the
boards Xcel used at the August 5 open house.

Citizens hold Xcel Energy's feet to the fire
Thanks to all of you who attended the Xcel Energy open house on August 5.
As reported in the Summit Daily News on August 7, 2009 in an article titled
Xcel eyes two locations for its substation with smaller design, over 100
citizens came out to express their concerns to Xcel representatives.
An ongoing
concern of LBRCA and other citizens is that Xcel continues their dialog through
the open house format with individual stations rather than a formal presentation
with a public Q & A session. Local citizens expressed their concern and Larry
Claxton of Xcel Energy hosted an informal Q & A for about 30 people at the end
of the open house.
Having a formal presentation with a
question-and-answer session ‘just doesn't accomplish what we're trying to
accomplish,' Stutz said. ‘It makes for good theater, but it doesn't allow for us
to gather the information we need.'
‘These meetings are a courtesy,' he added. ‘They're not required by law.'

“My latest work is centered on capturing the visual treasures combined with a
narrative by James Meadow to tell the story of Colorado working ranches. This
book speaks to the mission of the Lower Blue River Master Plan of protecting our
rural and agriculture culture.”
